Mental health is a critical aspect of our well-being and has been linked to numerous factors, including genetics, environment, and lifestyle. However, one factor that is often overlooked is colour.

Colour can play a significant role in our mental health and well-being and different colours have been shown to have varying effects on our emotions, moods, and even our behavior.

For example, blue is often associated with calmness and tranquility, while yellow is associated with happiness and optimism. Green is associated with growth and renewal, while red is associated with excitement and energy.

Using colour to improve mental health can be as simple as incorporating it into our surroundings. This can be done through our clothing, which was one of the primary reasons that Asstheticwear founder, Sinéad chose such vibrant and exciting designs for her brand. Sinéad was on a trip in Thailand in 2019 and she noticed how most people wore bright colours and were relaxed, outgoing and happy! While back in Australia where she lived life was stressful, serious and rather mundane and this reflected in the dark colours like black and grey that people wore. Whether it be dressing for work or the gym, the style was pretty plain and boring.

So she set out on her journey to create something radiant, eye catching and bold that stood out, turned heads and made people smile. The first product released was the ladies shorts for the gym, yoga, running, cycling and a whole range of activities. They featured designs such as donut print, flamingo, kangaroo, leopard print and avocados. Next, Sinéad went on to design something for the boys and she then launched a men's underwear range featuring fun prints such as eggplant, chilis, donuts, pride print with the male sex symbol and being Irish herself she of course had to release a men's shamrock range called the lucky jocks! ☘️ Since then there has been the men's swim shorts and socks collection also as featured on the website.

When it comes to mental health, it is important to take a holistic approach. This means considering all factors that may impact our well-being, including colour. By incorporating colour into our daily lives, we can potentially improve our mental health and overall well-being.

In conclusion, the connection between color and mental health is worth exploring a little deeper. By using a variety of colour in our surroundings and incorporating it into our lives for example, brightening up our wardrobes, we can potentially improve our mental health and well-being.
